In the use of generator carbon brushes, the current distribution of each carbon brush is relatively uneven. The current carrying capacity of individual carbon brushes is too high and the maintenance time after adjustment is short, which directly caused the temperature of some carbon brushes to rise as high as 230 ℃ or so. The average value of the excitation current distribution on each carbon brush should be close, but the actual current distribution is very uneven. If the compression spring pressure cannot be adjusted to increase its current carrying capacity, it can be basically judged that the collector ring is eccentric. The factor of large degree error. Due to the large current carrying capacity of individual carbon brushes, it is bound to cause excessive temperature and severe discoloration of the brush braids. With the occurrence of carbon brush fires, vibrations, and even the brush braces burn out, the operator frequently adjusts, but the effect is not Obvious, the amount of operation and maintenance was increased in vain. When the unit is under strong excitation, it is likely that the brush braid will be burned out due to the excessive load current of a few carbon brushes, which will eventually cause the unit's excitation system to collapse.

The generator has appeared the original spring for pressing the carbon brush. The spring of the carbon brush caused the spring to be ejected, and it could not play the role of pressing the carbon brush. Moreover, due to the change in the heating performance of the spring, the pressure gradually became abnormal. The control spring pressure is selected between 94 and 125 kPa, but in the end, a large deviation still occurs, which causes the current distribution of the carbon brushes to be uneven, causing some carbon brushes to overcurrent, generate heat and even ignite. However, due to the different positions of the carbon brushes, the self-weight of the entire brush holder makes the pressure applied by the carbon brushes located on the upper and lower parts of the slip ring different, so that the currents of the carbon brushes are still not uniform. Continuous sparks on the slip ring are transformed into arc-shaped sparks because a large number of carbon brushes have a large number of sparks.
